For me, this is one of those SACDs I bought and listen to because of the sound quality, not because the music really grabs me. I agree that this is not a great sounding SACD, compared to others available. Probably better than the CD, but that's not saying much. I think Ms. Lauper has a great voice, and the music on this SACD ranges from boppy fun to intense to commentary, sometimes all in the same song. I do *not* think this is the best sounding SACD ever (say, compared to Dark Side of the Moon, Tommy, or Sea Change), sonically-speaking, but it still ... more

I have to agree that I found this SACD disappointing. Granted, for me, much of the material has lost its impact, but that is also in part due to the mediocre sound. Flat and lifeless compared to better-done SACDs. Reviewed in stereo.

I have to say I love this album. The sound is not as rich as some SACDs, but still quite good. I love the songs, so the music quality can suffer a bit and I'll still enjoy the album.
