Being the big fan of the Moody Blues that I am, I was excited to learn Universal was going to issue 5 SACD's by this super group. It might be too little, too late. Sony has already scaled back a lot on SACD releases, and so has UMG. Most of the releases these days are specialty labels, such as Telarc. Had Sony really had the faith in SACD they should have, we'd have SACD-capable car stereos, portables, etc. But they never offered the format beyond the home environment, and ... more

But they clearly state on the cover that they are 3-channel recordings. It's still multichannel if the center channel is active. Three channels instead of two. I have several of these, and think they're awesome. Historic recordings as they're meant to be heard. ... more

A sticker on the digipak clearly states the recording within to be a 5.1 mix. This is misleading, since the mix is, in fact, 4.0. There is no center channel and no activity in the subwoofer. It was said this was made from the original quadraphonic tapes, and that's exactly what you get. Don't get me wrong; any Moody Blues in surround is great. But ... more
