Tomorrow's Jazz Classics 2005        (2 of 2 found this review helpful)

After listening to many SACD's this is one of the better multi channel offerings. All six channels are used to deliver a superb effect that is missing in many so called MCH SACD's. If you'd like a modern jazz sampler try this one.

One of a few SACD's I purchased recently with all 6 tracks loaded. I'm not the greatest fan of modern jazz but this one is unusually good. The multitracks add the extra dimension that is missing in stereo.

This was one of my first SACD's that demonstrated the full capabilities of the media. All six channels are strongly apparent with a full range of sonics. Did I mention that McPartland is at her finest? Amazing musician.

"Poking around" the innards of a few and sampling a few CD's seems to indicate a marginal system. My knowledge/search for a BD player was limited to my son's player ... more

I've been looking at a few BD players and cannot find six analog outputs on the back, therefore, none would fit in my system (no PCM processors). PCM elves work well for the "picture show" uses, not in my audio system. Regards. ... more

Let's see, my vinyl and Reel to Reel stuff date back to the 60's. All my player equipment is mid level IMHO and is easily repairable, ensuring a lasting operational capability. I doubt any of this poorly designed, IMHO, Universal SACD/DVD/CD stuff (regardless of price) will live, on average, more than 5 years (> 1000 hours). Regards. ... more
